Dr. Balaraju Naidu recently had the privilege of attending an advanced Revision Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery Fellowship in Australia, where he gained valuable exposure to international surgical practices and healthcare systems.
During this academic visit, Dr. Naidu had the opportunity to learn under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Jegan Krishnan and Dr. Sunil Reddy, both highly respected orthopedic surgeons known for their expertise in complex joint replacement procedures.
As part of the fellowship, Dr. Naidu observed advanced surgical procedures and patient care workflows at several leading hospitals in Australia, including:
Western Hospital
Ashford Hospital
Calvary Central District Hospital
These visits provided valuable insights into modern orthopedic surgical techniques, clinical protocols, and multidisciplinary patient management.
In addition to clinical training, Dr. Naidu also visited the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, where he participated in a knowledge exchange program focusing on the role of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Virtual Reality in Healthcare. The discussions highlighted how rapidly emerging technologies are transforming the field of orthopedic surgery and improving surgical precision and patient outcomes.
During the fellowship, Dr. Naidu observed and learned several advanced procedures including:
Reverse Shoulder Replacement
Mini Posterior Approach for Total Hip Replacement
Advanced Knee Arthroscopy Techniques
One of the most impressive aspects of the Australian healthcare system was the integrated patient care model, where consultation, surgical treatment, rehabilitation, and home-based recovery are coordinated seamlessly to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Inspired by this comprehensive approach, Dr. Naidu is actively working towards implementing a Comprehensive Orthopedic Care Pathway at ONUS Robotic Hospitals, aimed at delivering end-to-end orthopedic care for patients.
Dr. Naidu expresses his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Jegan Krishnan and Dr. Sunil Reddy for their mentorship, guidance, and warm hospitality during the fellowship.
This international learning experience further strengthens ONUS Robotic Hospitals’ commitment to bringing global standards of orthopedic care to patients in India.
